Effective ways to use video on your blog

Every year, socialmediatoday provides a list of the top 10 corporate blogs. In addition to the list, the site also provides some insight about what industries are using blog content and how effective their strategies are overall. Ultimately, IT led the way with the most valuable blog content on the web. Even though IT tends to be a trailblazer in the blogosphere, there are other industries making strides.

Instead of narrowing in on different industries and how different companies are effectively blogging, I wanted to take a slightly different perspective. this article, I wanted to spotlight organizations who have a focus on video content since this is really one of the ways to differentiate your company on the web.

So, here is a list of organizations that really use online video to their advantage:

Wegmans

  • Includes a “market spotlight” web video series focusing on trends customer’s care about
  • Integrates a collection of how-to videos which demonstrate food preparation techniques and specific recipes
  • Features on-camera insights from store managers around the country

Caterpillar

  • Uses test footage to demonstrate product durability and innovation
  • Captures a variety of customer testimonial videos which are gathered during tradeshows and other corporate events
  • Uploads a variety of archived footage for customers to access at any point in time
  • Produces video content to coincide with the major product launches

  • Produces a web series demonstrating how their particular products influence the world (see how the Vscan product is changing the world)
  • Showcases a time-lapse video of an innovative 7-acre facility that uses a solar power field

  • Includes videos of the supermarket grand openings around the country
  • Develops informational videos about various products within the store – in particular, there was a video discussing the Haitian mango
